One of the goals I had for myself this year was to do some kind of "run." So when a bunch of friends signed up for the Color Run - Jason and I decided we would too! It was so much fun. It was a 5k and ever kilometer, they threw colored powder at you. We had such a blast!
Today you are one year old! I just can't believe how the time has flown! You have been such a wonderful and amazing addition to our family. I am so grateful you were sent to be with us. Your sweet and loving personality makes my crazy and hectic days calm. At night when I sit and rock you - you cuddle up onto my chest and we could spend hours there. You bring sanity back to me and help me find the quiet moments in the day.
You are a sensitive boy. It seems that your feelings get hurt easily and that you are aware of how others around you feel. You can be gentle and soft - but you can also hold your own in a cat fight with your spunky older brother.
Owen, you have brought a new side of motherhood to my life. All three of my boys have taught me something about being a mother. You have taught me to slow down, calm down and appreciate the moments we have together.
We all love you so much. Especially your older brother Jack. He always wants to make sure you are taken care of and you love him for that.
You are a sweet and good boy, Owen. stay that way.
Tonight we had Owen's 1st birthday party. We went with a circus theme and it was so fun. Well, at least it was fun for everyone but Owen . . . he cried when we sang to him, he cried when he opened his presents, he cried when I put the cake on his highchair. Not quite the reaction i was hoping for - but that is our sweet Owen for ya!
