Owen Is One Month Old

I can't believe a month has already passed!
Owen in one month old!
This month has been full of adjustments, laughs, cries and becoming reacquainted with the lack of sleep.
This month Owen:
Has started making cooing noises.
Does a little half-smile.
Loves to be held upright.
Is attempting to hold up his head.
Sleeps about 3 to 4 hour stretches at night.
But when it comes down to it . . . he eats, sleeps and poops . . . and that is about it.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
The Bailey Boys
Jack thought green pancakes were pretty awesome.
Maybe I should start dying everything green just to get Jack to eat.

John Deer Boots

Or as Jack calls them . . . my "Boot Shoes."
My dad bought them when we were at the cabin a few months ago.
He made sure to buy some for the baby then too.
Today we decided we needed some pics of the boys in their "boot shoes."

Owen Is Growing Up

I feel like Owen changes everyday.
That is what happens with newborns.
They change so much so fast.
That is why I sit and hold him all day.
I don't want to miss a moment with these boys.

My Four Boys

Having Owen in our home has been such a special time. Newborns bring such a sweet spirit into a home. Perhaps it is because they just came from Heaven.
Today we decided to go decorate Gavin for St. Patrick's Day. It was a beautiful day and I felt so much love for these four boys as I took their picture. Each one of them has blessed my life so much.
Lately I have been thinking about the way life has played out for our family. I commented to Jason that Heavenly Father knew what He was doing when He placed each one of my boys into my life. In one way or another - each one has helped me more than they could imagine.
It has been a true testimony to me that He knows us and He knows what we need. He also knows what we can handle and He knows when to give us a little "break." He knew at each pivotal point in my life what I would be able to accomplish and who would be there to help me.
I know He knows me. I know He has watched over our family and I know He loves my boys.
All four of them.

A Few Of My Favorite Things About My Baby Owen

I love the peach fuzz down his backAnd the way he sleeps through everything (including his big brother's loud voice)
And eyes and ears that work
And the sweet spirit that stays in our home with the presence of a newborn
I am grateful

Toasty In The Sun

Our pediatrician suggested we keep Owen in a bit of sunlight to keep the jaundice away.
When Jack saw Owen in his diaper and laying in the sun - he took off his clothes and joined in the fun.

Brotherly Love

I was so worried Jack would be upset when we brought Owen home. He has been the center of our (and many others') world for the past two years. He has gotten all the attention he could ever ask for over his little two years. Now he has to share the time and attention. He actually has done pretty well . . . in fact, he thinks Baby Owen is a pretty cool guy to have around.

I am happy they love each other so much.

Owen's First Bath

Jack helped me give Owen his first bath.
Well, he actually just splashed in the water.
But it was fun to have him there anyway!
